Increased food production due to modern agricultural intensification is one of the most significant impacts that has occurred, but habitat fragmentation, loss of biodiversity and degradation of ecosystems are also a huge problem for wildlife conservation. Incorporating wildlife conservation goals into agriculture production landscapes has thus become a viable strategy for supporting food security while promoting ecological resilience. The review explores the dynamics between agriculture and wildlife, focusing on the consequences of intensive farming, habitat changes and human-wildlife conflicts for wildlife ecology. It addresses the principles of wildlife-friendly agriculture such as restoration of habitats, development of biodiversity-friendly farm systems, establishing ecological corridors, and creating landscape connectivity. In addition, the review identifies some sustainable agriculture trends and new technologies being developed for better biodiversity assessment and conservation planning, including remote sensing, geographic information systems, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) based monitoring, and digital decision-support platforms. Other scientific tools for conservation prioritization in agricultural landscapes, such as biodiversity indicators, species distribution modelling and habitat suitability analysis, are also explored. The synthesis shows that the combination of ecological knowledge, precision agriculture and advanced monitoring technologies has a positive effect on the provision of ecosystem services, landscape resilience and long-term agricultural sustainability. The review offers exhaustive insight into current strategies, challenges to implementation and future research directions to create conservation oriented agricultural systems, which at the same time support productive agriculture while preserving and strengthening biodiversity and environmental sustainability in a changing global context.
