Abstract

The development of a unique biosensor with gold-MoS2 coated photonic crystal fiber (PCF) for enhanced detection sensitivity using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is presented. The integration of MoS2, a two-dimensional material with remarkable optical and electrical properties, with gold nanoparticles on the PCF surface provides a highly sensitive platform for detecting biological and chemical analytes. The proposed biosensor demonstrates significant potential in real-time, label-free biosensing applications, with the ability to identify MDAMB-231 cancer cell for the breast cancer type-1 detection. Our findings highlight the promising capabilities of this gold-MoS2 PCF biosensor for future applications in clinical diagnosis, ecosystem monitoring and food inspection. The wavelength sensitivity (WS) of the designed structure is proven to be 15032 nm/RIU.
