Abstract

Introduction: Today, the production of eggs with high growth and survival efficiency is
considered an important and key tool in the cold-water aquatic industry, especially
important species such as rainbow trout .
Materials & Methods: After hatching, 3600 rainbow trout larvae were placed in 4
treatments of French, Polish, Spanish, and Iranian fish and each treatment with three
replications at the beginning of active feeding in plastic tanks, and the experiment was
performed within 90 days.
Results: French eggs (98.9%) and Iranian eggs (95.6%) had the highest and lowest
hatching percentages (P<0.05). Maximum and minimum survival was related to French
(97.5%) and Iranian (93.6%) eggs, respectively (P<0.05). The highest and lowest weight
growth was related to French treatment with 4.41 g and Iranian treatment with 3.10 g
(P<0.05). The highest and lowest longitudinal growth was related to French fish with
47.50 and Iranian fish with 44.35 (P<0.05). The highest values of body weight gain and
specific growth coefficient were related to French treatment with 89.15 and 11.2,
respectively, and the lowest values were related to Iranian treatment with 59.13 and 8.5,
respectively (P<0.05). The best and worst feed conversion ratios were related to French
and Iranian treatments, which were 0.57 and 0.73, respectively (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The best and weakest yields were related to French and Iranian eggs,
respectively.
